To build a successful online coaching business you need the right audience and building your audience starts with that first step. Yes Creating and promoting your lead magnet. Your Lead Magnet is a great way to attract new clients and grow your business.

My list has grown to over 3100 over the last 12 months and it all started with just that one simple lead magnet which I promoted everywhere. If I had never promoted that simple lead magnet I might have not grown my list to this number.

It’s not all about numbers but it's about your efforts and dedication.

I know you are here because you have something highly valuable to share as your lead magnet. You have made all the efforts and created your most valuable resource and now it's time to promote it effectively to get your ideal clients in your world.

I would love to categorize these methods into major categories so it becomes easier for us to plan our outreach. The 4 Broad categories are Your Audience, Other’s Audience, Collaborate to Grow, and Pay to Grow.


Your Audience

This is where we see how we can leverage our existing audience to promote our newly built lead magnet. Your audience has a huge potential to get high-quality leads. And these leads will be warm leads who have an idea about you and your work.

1. Your Social Media Posts

The best place to promote your lead magnet is your social media posts. Talk about your lead magnet and its benefits. Posts with great images get good traction.















2. Your Social Media Stories

Your stories are viewed by most active people on socials and thighs becomes a great place to promote your lead magnet and get them into your mailing list. Share exciting stories and promote your lead magnet.

When you share your lead magnet in stories make sure you do it as a sequence of 3 to 4 slides.


3. Ladder Posts on Your Socials

Ladder posts work amazingly on Facebook. You can do ladder posts in your group, others groups, and your profile. These are coloured background short texts promoting your freebie.


4. Your Facebook Profile/Page Cover

This is a great idea to design a cover with your lead magnet and add the link in the description for people to opt in. Wherever you connect with people they will jump onto your profile and the cover is visible.

If you use tools such as Linktree for multiple links then make sure you have only one free and one paid offer. Too many offers may confuse your people.

Have an amazing lead magnet? Post it on Facebook and pin the post. Pinned posts remain as attraction points on your profile making it easier to grab your lead magnet.

It is good to keep changing your pinned post regularly to promote most of your lead magnets.


8. Pinned Posts on Instagram

You get to pin 3 posts on your Instagram and it is a great place to highlight your lead magnet. You can’t add a link to this post but people can always comment on the link and it will boost engagement as well.








9. Facebook Group Banner

Does your FB group get a lot of traction via the FB algorithm? It is good to highlight your lead magnet on the banner and add the link in the description.


10. Facebook Group Description

Group visitors get to read the group description and you shouldn’t miss your chance to add your lead magnet here. Many members download a clearly mentioned lead magnet with proper CTA.


11. Facebook Group Welcome Post

Add your lead magnet link with the little welcome post as your next step. Many members love to take action and download the free gift given with a warm welcome.



12. LinkedIn Cover

Yes, ads have become slightly costly but you can always have a backend setup with tripwires of low-cost offers in your welcome sequences to cover up the ad costs. This is where you pay to group admin to let you promote in their FB groups. It's a good exposure to huge audiences in groups and leverages existing groups with authority. Ladder posts work amazingly in such groups to promote your lead magnet.

You can pay for posting on huge accounts on Social media. You get to pay for a certain number of posts and can use those to promote your lead magnet. This works great if any influencer or biz owner is letting sponsor spots to their socials. Always check for engagement and quality of the audience before paying for such spots.

Similar to sponsored posts but here you get to pay to get a spot to do a blog post on a huge blog of others. It gives great exposure as blogs attract organic traffic and are mostly evergreen. Utilize these to give value and also make sure you include more than 2 lead magnets in your blog post.

You can pay for posting stories and get a tag by accounts having a huge following on Social media. You get to pay for a certain number of stories and can use those to promote your lead magnet. Always check for engagement and quality of the audience before paying for such spots.

A lot of memberships feature your lead magnets on their mailing list. This is a great way to get a quality audience and share your work with your coach's audience.
